Verndale Newsletter December 2011

New at Verndale

This holiday season, Verndale has teamed up with their friends at Hope for Limpopo, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting impoverished women, children and families, many of whom are affected by HIV/AIDS in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. Please join us in the effort to spread Holiday "Hope" to those in need.

On December 9, the Verndale team enjoyed their holiday party inside the stylish Foundation Room at the House of Blues Boston. Be sure to check out our Flickr and Facebook pages for photos of the night’s festivities.

Members of Verndale’s Sitecore certified team took part in Sitecore’s .NET Developer Course earlier this month – arming them with the training needed to master Sitecore CMS development practices. Check out our press release for more information about the .NET certification training for Sitecore 6.5.

We congratulate RI Living and Continuum on the launch of their corporate websites, and welcome Texas Instruments, Nellie Mae Education Foundation, Cree, Inc., Advanced Power Services Inc., and Aids-FreeWorld.org (a TIDES Canada Initiative project) as this month’s newest clients.

Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2012.

Did You Know?

Last month, Google made a significant improvement to its ranking algorithm – providing users with fresher, more recent search results. This improvement impacts roughly 35% of searches, and better determines when to give you more up-to-date and relevant results for three main areas of freshness: (1) Recent events of hot topics, (2) Regularly recurring events, and (3) Frequent updates. Each of these types of queries demands the most recent content for a particular topic in their own unique way. For example, if you are searching for the most recent information about a current event like the Republican presidential debate, or latest news about the NFL Playoffs, you’ll see more results that may be only a minute or two old.

Check out our recent SEM Tip to learn more about how you can take advantage of the changes brought about by the freshness update.
