Are You Prepared for Real-Time Search?

Posted December 7, 2009

Google launched “Real-Time Search” this week, which adds a “Latest results for: (search term)” section in the SERP, much like the “News Results” section. The Latest Results section brings in data from Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter, which Google has struck deals with recently. This is just another reason for your brand or organization to be active in the 2.0 space as it now has a direct relationship with the world’s #1 search engine. All of the sudden your Facebook fans and Twitter followers are not the only ones viewing your posts – now it’s the entire search community. Consider using high-search volume keywords and ones that are currently generating buzz in your Tweets and Facebook updates in order to capture visibility in the Latest Results section. Work with your search team to develop a strategy that leverages your Facebook and Twitter posts with SEO.
