Posted June 1, 2009

Measuring online social media will mean getting a little creative in selecting which metrics to use. Some examples of this include: monitoring traffic from your social media channels by looking at the referring sites section of your analytics platform, measuring the number of times your widget has been embedded on other websites or blogs, tracking the number of fans or followers who have joined your fan based community on social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, or Linkedln, or determining how many page views your corporate blog is getting. The point of measuring social media is that if something is worth doing, it's worth measuring.
