Many marketers believe they are invested in social media when in reality, they're not. A common example of this is asking a marketer if he or she has a social media plan, and the answer is, “Yes, I have a Facebook page!”. Being invested in social media requires a diversified approach to selecting social media channels. Asking yourself if you're involved in corporate blogging, Twitter, YouTube, Yahoo! Answers, LinkedIn, and Google Alerts - just to name a few - is essential to having an effective social media plan.
