Reduce Bounce Rate with Related Posts

Posted June 22, 2011

You work hard at getting visitors to your website, so why not work hard at keeping them there? Bounce rate, or the rate in which visitors view only one page before leaving the website, impacts user engagement, conversion percent, and possibly even organic search rankings. This is why website owners should make it a priority to keep the bounce rate as low as possible. One technique that we recommend is to include related posts on the page that link to additional content on your website.  This tactic will not only keep the visitor’s attention, but enhance your overall linking scheme as well. Using a content management system (CMS), which serves as a centralized repository for your content, related content can be dynamically generated and displayed on different pages of the website, making content reuse very simple and maintenance free. Most often related posts are planned for during the planning phase of a project prior to the CMS being implemented. For more information on content reuse or related posts, contact your SEO team.
