Leverage Google Boost for Local Search Optimization

Posted January 26, 2011

According to Google, 97% of people research online before buying locally. Google Boost, an advertising solution that allows local businesses to connect with potential customers, is now available on mobile phones. Boost ads, released in October 2010, will now appear on Android and iPhone devices. With Google Boost, companies can quickly create online advertisement campaigns to present to users searching locally on their phones. The solution will automatically create text ads based on the information written in your Google Places account. Leverage Google Boost to attract potential customers searching in your area. Optimize your Google Places account so that Google Boost pulls detailed information about your business. Remember to use key messaging that motivates users to click on your ad (e.g. free parking). Find out if your business is eligible for Google Boost by viewing the dashboard in your Google Places account. While Google Boost is a great opportunity to show up in local search results, AdWords campaigns may provide you with more control and advanced reporting especially if it’s managed well.
