Search-Friendly Website vs. Search-Optimized Website

Posted February 2, 2011

Essentially, a search-friendly website is one that is “crawlable” by search engines in that it makes strong use of HTML, rather than non-friendly content types like Flash, JavaScript, or text within images. A search-optimized website is one that is search-friendly, but also does a good job with on-page optimization where important keyphrases are used throughout key areas of the page. In order to create a website that performs well in search engines you should ensure that your website is search-friendly, as well as search-optimized. Make sure your website has a solid foundation with good URL structures, Meta titles and descriptions and anchor text within links. Also, generate fresh content, such as blog posts or news items that are timely and help reinforce the content theme of your business.
