Background:
Since 1847 (and 33 U.S. Presidents!), NECCO has been making some of America’s favorite confectionary delights, including NECCO® Wafers, Clark® bars, and the legendary Sweethearts® Conversation Hearts. That's quite an historic legacy, but by no means is company thinking stuck in the 19th Century.
Need:
The nation's oldest multi-line candy company needed to gain an online presence without losing its invaluable sense of nostalgia.
Solution:
Migrating such a classic brand onto the web required paying close attention to the style and elements that have defined NECCO through the decades. Verndale blended a tasty confection of its own, combining vibrant visuals with photos and history that pay homage to the company's storied past. We designed a site that brought together NECCO’s classic brands, candy products, fun kids games, candy recipes and more.
Results:
NECCO's timeless brand now enjoys state-of-the-art web technology and tools—and a new site thoroughly enjoyed by candy fans ages 9 to 90.
