About the Support Engineer Position
The key to success in this position is to support and maintain existing web systems built by Verndale. This includes completing small and large scale upgrades to content management solutions and business systems built in ASP and .NET. Extensive knowledge in ASP, C#, VBScript, and SQL is required.
This individual will work closely with our engineering team and support staff to ensure the successful implementation of programming support related upgrades to existing systems. Documentation and quality assurance skills are critical. Our aggressive growth projections are dependent on an efficient, bright, and professional Support Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Support existing web applications using ASP, C#, and MS SQL Server.
- Work closely with support staff to complete fixes and upgrades to both web applications and business systems.
- Enhance development standards to maximize efficiency and turnaround within the programming support department.
- Create documentation and standards around each application that is being supported by Verndale.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years experience in software development related to business applications and web programming.
- Experience must include extensive knowledge of ASP, Microsoft SQL Server, and .NET, especially in the area of web standards and best practices.
- A solid understanding of the latest technologies and innovations related to the web development field, such as web services and practical use of XML.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills are required.
- The ability to handle the demands of a fast-growing company and provide direction to other functional departments in the area of improving web programming support.
