About the Technical Analyst Position
The Technical Analyst is responsible for assisting Verndale's Lead Architects with the run management of projects through the project lifecycle (conception, execution, launch, support). The Technical Analyst is the primary backup for project-related questions if the Lead Architect is unavailable and also owns/organizes all project-related documentation. The person in this position must familiarize him/herself with scope, objectives and architecture across multiple projects, as well as the role and function of each Verndale team member in order to effectively support the Lead Architects. This position serves as a primary facilitator for cross-team communication and collaboration, running recurring sync meetings, capturing feedback and following up on action items.

Responsibilities

    Documentation

    • Responsible for owning and updating all front and back-end documentation. This documentation originates from various department owners and is compiled and edited by the Technical Analyst.
    • Ability to identify "gaps", overlaps, and conflicting information in documentation, outline basic test scenarios, provide implementation recommendations, and understand the integration of modules/web parts within content management systems.
    • Must be able to effectively communicate and document complex user interaction scenarios.

    Estimation

    • Collect project-specific estimates from departmental leads (IA, Design, HTML, Engineering), and hand off to sales.
    • Possess a solid understanding of front-end development (XHTML, CSS, JS) and have experience with middle tire and back end development (ASP.NET, C#, SQL).
    • Experience with CMS systems, specifically Sitecore, is a big plus.

    Communication

    • Facilitating cross-department communication is key to this role.
    • The Tech Analyst leads recurring "standup" meetings with members of the Engineering, QA, PM & IA teams and capture & follow-up on any action/blocking items
    • The Tech Analyst will be the backup "go-to" person for project specific questions if the Architect is unavailable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in related field, specialized training, or 3-6 years of equivalent work experience in IT/software industry.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to cultivate relationships with internal departments.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to gather, analyze and document information (although development knowledge is required, development will not be a focus of this role).
  • Experience with ASP.NET, SQL, C#, CSS, XHTML, JS.
  • Experience with CMS integration.
  • Familiarity with both agile and waterfall development methodologies is a plus.
  • Must be flexible and comfortable with the changing demands of a rapidly-growing and fast moving company.
