About the Technical Lead Position
This position is all about developing smartly architected web applications that utilize cutting edge technology and practices. Extensive understanding of and experience with relational data modeling (SQL Server), and web application architecture using ASP.NET and C#, AJAX, and LINQ will be required. Content Management System (CMS) experience is a huge plus. Tech Leads are responsible for architecting and managing the development aspects of web applications and products for a wide variety of clients as well as for Verndale internal systems, ensuring the highest level of quality and performance. They are the true leaders of the engineering department and the right candidates really are the technology evangelists within the company. The tech leads also play a key role of mentorship within the engineering team as well as working to improve and enforce engineering processes and standards helping us to become one of the strongest teams in our industry.
Responsibilities
- Lead Engineering project implementation teams and make key project decisions with the Engineering Manager to bring engineering projects in according to scope, timeline, and budget.
- Act as engineering liaison to the Program Management Department to drive any project related technical questions
- Provide technical mentorship to Senior and Junior Engineers
- Develop necessary technical architecture and make key technology decisions to make individual projects successful.
- Stay apprised of the latest technologies and innovations in web application technologies (in general) and ASP.NET (in particular).
- Actively participate in the project planning process and bring that background knowledge back to the engineering implementation team.
- Develop accurate, informed engineering estimates for projects
- Enhance development standards and introduce new technologies to maximize efficiency and turnaround within the Engineering department
- Meet with Engineering Manager and companion technical leads to give full updates on all related projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field AND / OR 5+ Years of Web Application development experience
- Expert in Microsoft technology stack including:
- .NET framework and specifically ASP.NET and C#
- Relational Data modeling utilizing Microsoft SQL Server
- AJAX Technologies
- LINQ
- IIS
- Experience leading, managing, and maintaining standards and practices in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience with key application development tools such as:
- Automated Testing Platforms
- Code Generation
- AJAX Technologies
- Automated deployment and Continuous Integration
- Code Review Platforms
- The ability to handle the demands of a fast-growing company and provide direction to other functional departments in the area of improving web development
- Experience with Mobile specific sites and Mobile applications as well as standard web based implementations is a plus
- Strong Experience with Content Management Systems is preferable
