Education Minnesota

Education Minnesota

Education Minnesota, an organization representing over 70,000 union educators, underwent recent website design and technological updates to increase awareness and utilization of online resources. As the technical lead and leveraging a provided design, Verndale built out EducationMinnesota.org utilizing Sitecore CMS. Verndale built the site to display a wealth of information about advocacy, school funding, family support, and negotiations within a user-friendly format. Verndale also enabled secure access to a member site for registered state union educators. Registered members can access benefits such as discounts on travel and merchandise or assistance with insurance plans, attorney referrals, financial planning, retirement, and home or car purchase. The new implementation also supports over 40 local union chapter microsites, each with its own set of content authors. Education Minnesota plans to expand the number of local microsites over the years to better serve the immediate interests if its members.

NCCN

National Comprehensive Cancer Network

The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) is dedicated to improving the quality and effectiveness of care provided to patients with cancer. Their consumer website NCCN.com focuses on resources for understanding the different types of cancers, best available treatments and life beyond the terrible disease. NCCN’s marketing and IT staff leveraged the technical expertise of Verndale to implement Ektron CMS as a way to easily manage online content. During a brief planning engagement, Verndale team members worked to validate the current Information Architecture (IA), determine content types within the site, and deliver site design template feedback to NCCN’s creative staff members. Verndale then developed a plan for how the design would interact with the CMS, built out the different HTML templates, integrated the templates with the site’s front end, and created the Ektron administrative interface. The final integration resulted in a highly searchable, information rich resource which cancer patients can visit to better their lives.
