Boston, MA – May 10, 2011 – The Horizon Interactive Awards, a leading international interactive media awards competition, announced the 2010 award winners to highlight this year’s “best of the best” in interactive media production.
Verndale was recognized for their excellence with a Silver award in the Activism/Non-Profit category for their work on the Boston Athletic Association’s (B.A.A.) corporate website. As one of the nation’s oldest athletic clubs, the B.A.A. manages the prestigious Boston Marathon. Verndale helped B.A.A. connect with their online audience with a fresh new design, including historic photography that showcases the rich history of the organization. Also, the development of Sitecore CMS into the new site provides site administrators with the ability to manage and edit their own content with an improved information architecture, allowing B.A.A. to highlight specific events that take place during various times throughout the calendar year.
Verndale was also recognized with a Bronze award in the Consumer Information category for their work on the Symmons Industries Corporate Website. Symmons, a premier manufacturer of commercial and residential plumbing products, looked to redesign and re-architect their public website. Designed and developed in the latest version of Sitecore, the new website allows for improved classification of Symmons products into a complete portfolio, making it easier for the user to browse and filter specific products.
“The Horizon Interactive Awards this year are a tribute to the hard work and collaboration between Verndale and our clients, the Boston Athletic Association and Symmons Industries, Inc,” said Joe Zarrett, President of Verndale. We’re honored to be award winners in this prestigious competition.”
The ninth annual, international competition saw over 1000 entries from 22 countries around the world including: Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Egypt, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, UAE, and the United Kingdom, and nearly all 50 of the United States of America. An international panel of judges, consisting of industry professionals with diverse backgrounds, as well as an end user panel evaluated 37 different categories ranging from online advertising to mobile applications.
