The Challenge

CommunityAmerica Credit Union is one of the Midwest’s largest credit unions with a strong and growing member base. Its website—serving 80% of current members and 20% of prospects—is critical to both service and growth.

However, an inflexible content management system (CMS) created significant roadblocks. The marketing team relied on IT for even simple changes, personalization was limited to manual workarounds, and compliance risks loomed due to a lack of control. A platform upgrade was essential, but with thousands of components and hundreds of pages, a traditional migration timeline felt nearly impossible.

CommunityAmerica needed a scalable, flexible foundation that could empower internal teams and deliver a better experience for every visitor.

The Solution

To meet the aggressive timeline, CommunityAmerica partnered with Verndale in a co-development model that balanced speed, scale, and strategy. Verndale’s proprietary migration tool, Forge AI, handled over 6,650 components across 640 pages, nearly eliminating manual efforts and keeping the project on track.

A new CMS content architecture introduced nine flexible templates and 15 modular components, enabling scalable, reusable content. Verndale also implemented scalable schemas, improved indexing, and provided technical guidance on search, personalization, and governance.

The Outcome

The site launched smoothly, on time, and with zero downtime—despite the complexity of the migration. Verndale’s Forge AI tool dramatically reduced manual effort, freeing CommunityAmerica’s teams to focus on delivering value rather than replicating content. The new site delivers a seamless experience across devices, with improved responsiveness, media handling, and accessibility.

Thanks to content versioning and scheduling tools from Optimizely CMS, marketing now operates with speed and confidence. Compliance and governance are built in, with structured workflows and clear oversight. On the technical side, the platform is future-ready, with optimized indexing, smarter image management, and a scalable architecture built to evolve with member expectations.
