Opticon 2024 has wrapped, leaving us all more inspired about the future of marketing. If you're like me, you probably took a mountain of notes, promising to review them later. But in true AI-inspired efficiency, you might just feed them into your GPT of choice for a quick summary. Still need to do that? No worries, I've got you covered on the CMP roadmap session. Whether you're a super CMP user or still considering the platform, these updates and advancements are set to change how you approach marketing operations. Here's a glimpse into what's next for Optimizely CMP.
These features are expected to roll out soon, but as with any evolving roadmap, timelines may shift.
State of the Art AI
AI takes center stage with enhancements that'll alter content lifecycles forever, all powered by Opal.
AI agents will take into account multiple steps, reducing the time a human must spend on it or carrying it across the finish line. For example, you can have an agent for brief completion, brand compliance, or even reassign work when someone is on PTO. These agents are your AI-powered assistants for content creation, managing campaigns, experimentation summaries, and more. You'll teach Opal your brand guidelines (think tone of voice), powering your agent's autonomy to flow through your workflow.
This functionality extends beyond the CMP as well. Anticipate a seamless experience with these AI-driven assistants across all Optimizely products, adapting based on user roles and context. You'll be able to generate on-brand assets such as hero images and campaign briefs, complete with integrated SEO and compliance features. Additionally, AI campaign kits will automate everything from task generation to creating campaign-specific assets, with tools customized to suit your needs.
Fully-Integrated DAM
The CMP roadmap emphasized a deeper DAM integration, moving beyond its core functionality to follow marketers where you work, like CMS platforms. Upcoming features include advanced filtering to quickly locate assets with improved metadata controls and task-level renditions, enabling you to manage and optimize assets directly from task views.
CMP users can also look forward to some UX delights, including library list views, mandatory asset fields, field value deactivation, and asset fields now work requests.
Full-Visibility Reporting
Knowing your team's capacity beyond assigning tasks toward actually balancing workloads will help avoid burnout and maximize productivity. With Resource Management 2.0, users will have flexible views spanning hours or project scopes to allocate resources strategically and hit their deadlines.
In addition to the resource management enhancements, CMP users can expect configurable efficiency dashboards to track lead times, task statuses, and team performances tailored to your unique data (i.e., filter on your fields, workflows, and more).
Lastly, if you have a lot of assets at play, it's easy to lose track of what's working and continue to produce, produce, produce, right? Soon, CMP will provide insights into asset utilization so you can save time spent on assets that just aren't working. My team is especially excited about this so we can measure what our sales team is using and what's collecting dust.
